FAQ
Steel Ladder FAQ: Standards, Materials, Finishes & Ordering
This steel ladder FAQ collects the questions our engineers answer most — compliance (OSHA 1910.23, EN ISO 14122-4, BS 4211), steel grades (Q235B, SS304, SS316), load and coating specs, lead times, and factory-direct ordering.

Common Ladder Questions Answered

Ordering
Ordering & Pricing
What is the typical delivery time?
Standard models ship in 15-20 days from order confirmation. Custom engineering projects typically deliver in 25-35 days. We ship FCL and LCL from Tianjin port with full export documentation.
Do you have a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
No. We accept orders of any size — from a single ladder for evaluation to container-load quantities for large projects. Factory-direct means no middleman constraints.
How do I request a quote?
Fill out the form on our Contact page with your product interest, quantity, dimensions, and timeline. Our engineering team responds within 24 hours with technical specifications and pricing.
Can you share project references or case studies?
We export steel ladders to projects worldwide and can provide references relevant to your industry and country on request.

Standards
Standards & Compliance
What steel ladder standards does Dengtai comply with?
We manufacture to OSHA 1910.23 (USA), EN ISO 14122-4 (Europe), BS 4211 (UK), AS 1657 (Australia), and IS 3696 (India). Each ladder ships with full compliance documentation and material test reports.
What load are your fixed ladders and cages designed to carry?
Our fixed ladders, rungs and cages are engineered to the load cases in OSHA 1910.23 and EN ISO 14122-4 — each rung is sized for a concentrated live load with a safety factor on the structural steel, and we supply rung and stringer calculations for your project on request.

Products
Products & Customization
What types of steel ladders do you manufacture?
Five main product lines: Cat Ladders (BS 4211) for confined spaces, Caged Ladders (OSHA/EN) with safety cages, Fixed Steel Ladders for permanent access, Roof Access Ladders with platforms, and Monkey Ladders (IS 3696) for narrow shafts. Plus a full range of accessories.
Can you customize ladder dimensions?
Yes. We manufacture to your exact requirements — custom widths, heights, rung spacing, cage dimensions, and finishes. Submit your specifications for a free engineering review within 24 hours.

Materials
Materials & Finishes
What material grades are available?
Three options: HDG (hot-dip galvanized Q235B carbon steel) for general industrial use, SS304 stainless steel for corrosive and food-grade environments, and SS316 marine-grade stainless steel for offshore and coastal applications.
HDG vs Stainless Steel — which should I choose?
HDG offers 15-25 year service life at lower cost — ideal for most industrial and commercial environments. SS304 is recommended for chemical plants and food processing. SS316 is required for offshore platforms and marine environments with direct saltwater exposure.
What steel grades and coatings do you offer?
Carbon-steel ladders are fabricated from Q235B; stainless models use SS304 as standard and SS316 for marine or chemical environments. Hot-dip galvanizing is applied to EN ISO 1461, typically 70-85 μm, with powder coat and electro-galvanizing also available.

Documentation
Documentation & Testing
What documentation comes with each order?
Every shipment includes: material certificates (EN 10204 3.1), weld inspection records, dimensional accuracy reports, coating thickness measurements, and load test certificates. Third-party verification by SGS, TÜV, or Bureau Veritas is available.
Do you provide third-party inspection reports?
Yes. We work with SGS, TÜV, Bureau Veritas, and other international agencies. Third-party testing can be arranged at any stage — raw material verification, in-process inspection, or pre-shipment final audit.
Are you ISO certified, and can you provide third-party test reports?
Yes — our factory operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and every order ships with material certificates, weld reports and load-test data. We can arrange third-party inspection by SGS, TUV or Bureau Veritas before shipment when your project requires it, and we welcome factory audits.

Shipping
Shipping & Logistics
Do you ship to our country?
We export to 50+ countries across six continents. Available shipping terms: FOB Tianjin, CIF to your port, and DDP to your door. Our logistics team handles all documentation — certificates of origin, packing lists, and customs clearance.
How are ladders packed for export?
Ladders are packed in reinforced steel frames with weatherproof wrapping. Caged ladders are partially disassembled to optimize container space. Every shipment includes a detailed packing list with crate-level contents for easy inspection.

Support
Installation & Support
Do you provide installation support?
Yes. Every order includes a detailed installation manual covering torque specifications, anchor requirements, and bracket spacing. Our engineering team is available on WhatsApp during your installation for real-time support.
Can I visit your factory before ordering?
Absolutely. We welcome factory audits. Our 8,000 m² facility is in Shijiazhuang, Hebei — 3 hours from Beijing by high-speed rail. Contact us to schedule a visit and see our production lines firsthand.
What warranty do you provide?
2-year warranty against manufacturing defects on all products. HDG ladders have an expected service life of 15-25 years in normal environments. Stainless steel ladders can exceed 30 years with proper maintenance.
